Lisa Slawson, Board President, was elected to her second four-year term on the Board of Education in May 2008. She and her husband Greg have lived in the Saline Area School District since 1998. Mrs. Slawson received her Bachelor's degree in Public Policy Administration and a law degree from Indiana University. She has two children, Katie, at the High School and Sam at the Middle School. She was the Woodland Meadows PTA President for two years and also served on the school's North Central Accreditation Committee for two years. Chuck Lesch, Vice President was elected to his first four-year term on the Board of Education in May 2008. He and his wife, Jean, have lived in the Saline Area School District since 1990. They have two daughters. Amy and Megan who both graduated from Saline High School. Chuck received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Science Education from the University of Iowa. He is currently a research scientist at Lycera Corp, which is a start-up drug discovery company. Chuck is involved with various commissions at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saline, the Saline Knights of Columbus, and is a volunteer coach with the Saline girls cross-country team. David Holden, Secretary was elected to his first four-year term on the Board of Education in November 2011. He and his wife, Raye, have lived in the Saline Area School District since 1993. They have three sons. Dylan, Derek, and Reed all attended Saline Area Schools. David received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan and Masters in Business Administration from Robert Morris. He is currently Manager Strategic Accounts Automotive and Fabrication Market for Air Liquide a leading global industrial gas company. David has been active in the Saline Area Community serving as a basketball and baseball coach for 15 years. Todd Carter, Trustee, was elected to the Board of Education in November 2010. Mr. Carter and his family have lived in the area since 1990. He has been active in many organizations but has his longest tenure, 18 years, with the Knights of Columbus. Nancy, his wife, has been very active in the school system over the years and now excels as the Middle School Youth Minister at St. Andrew's Church in Saline. Kate, eldest of two daughters, is a Saline High School graduate, and has been a very successful Cross Country and Track athlete. She is currently attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Annie, the younger daughter, currently attends Saline High School and is excelling at her schoolwork, Field Hockey, and Track. Mr. Carter is a graduate of Port Clinton High School in Port Clinton, Ohio and the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Amy Cattell, Trustee, was elected to a four-year term on the Board of Education in May 2009. She and her husband, Mike have lived in the Saline Area School District for 21 years. They have a son, Michael and daughter, Lindsay, both graduates of Saline High School. Amy’s background includes many years of experience in business and marketing. She attended Oakland Community College and also the Institute of Certified Travel Agents. She managed and ran her own business in the travel industry for 25 years. Craig Hoeft, Trustee, was elected to a four-year term on the Board of Education in May 2009. Craig and his wife Patty have lived in Saline all their lives. Both of them along with their daughters Niki, Jessica, and Ashley graduated from Saline High School. Craig is the Fire Chief of the Saline Area Fire Department. David Zimmer, Trustee was elected to a four-year term in November 2011. He and his wife, Susan have been residents of the Saline Area School District since 1999. David and Susan have two children, Rob, age 18 and Allison, age 16. Rob is currently attending Michigan State University and Allison is an 11th grader at Saline High. David is a graduate of Michigan State University where he majored in Labor Relations and Organizational and Industrial Psychology. David has over 30 years of experience in human resources management and human capital consulting, serving in senior management and executive level roles with various Fortune 500 companies during his career. Since 2000, his work has focused on strategic initiatives for higher education, non-profit organizations, and human resources organizations.. Within the Saline Area School District, David was a member of the 2004 Long Range Planning Committee and led the effort for the development and eventual adoption of the weighted grades policy for Advanced Placement Classes at Saline High in 2010. He has also been active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, the SHS Touchdown Club, the Saline Lacrosse Program, the SHS Dance Team, and the the PTO Programs at Pleasant Ridge, Harvest, Heritage, Middle School, and High School for over 12 years.
