Heritage Elementary School Annual Education Report (AER) Cover Letter

August 15, 2011

Dear Parents and Community Members:

We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER), which provides key information on the 2010-11 educational progress for Heritage Elementary.   The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about Student Assessment, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), Teacher Quality, and NAEP Data. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Les Sharon for assistance.

The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following web site Heritage Elementary School or you may review a copy from your school’s office.

For 2010-11, Heritage Elementary made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in English language arts and mathematics.  While we are pleased to have reached this important goal, we are continuously working to improve. We appreciate the continued support of parents, staff and our community in this effort.

State law requires that we also report additional information

  1. PROCESS FOR ASSIGNING PUPILS TO THE SCHOOL
  2. THE STATUS OF THE 3-5 YEAR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
  3. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EACH SPECIALIZED SCHOOL
  4. IDENTIFY HOW TO ACCESS A COPY OF THE CORE CURRICULUM, A DESCRIPTION OF ITS IMPLEMENTATION AND AN EXPLANATION OF THE VARIANCES FROM THE STATE’S MODEL
  5. THE AGGREGATE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT RESULTS FOR ANY LOCAL COMPETENCY TESTS OR NATIONALLY NORMED ACHIEVEMENT TESTS. VIEW NWEA TEST SCORES AND THE NORMATIVE DATA CHART.
  6. IDENTIFY THE NUMBER AND PERCENT OF STUDENTS REPRESENTED BY PARENTS AT PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

On behalf of the entire staff of Heritage Elementary School we are very proud of students and our performance on this recent annual education report. As always, we will continue to strive for the highest levels of success for each of our students. We look forward to working together with our students, parents and the entire Heritage School community this school year.

Sincerely,

Les Sharon, Principal
