Current Events

Due dates for Current Events will be listed here each quarter. There are usually due every other Friday.

Students will be working on improving the quality of their current event write ups by setting FCA's that are individual and focused on goal areas that they need work in. Ask your child about his/her Focus Correction Areas, and check to see how its going for them.

    * Please note that while classroom Current Event forms are available to use, they are NOT a requirement. Students are encouraged to type or neatly write out their information using blue or black ink. Copies of the Current Event Forms may be downloaded here.

To receive full credit for a current event, the following format must be followed: It must be an international event, the source of the information must be credible and listed in a bibliography style format, the event must be summarized, students must tell how the event connects to their Prior Social Studies Knowledge.

First Cardmarking Due Dates:

Current Event #1 will be completed in class on Friday, Sept. 10th

C.E.#2 - Friday, Sept. 17th

C.E.#3 - Friday, October 1st

C.E.#4 - Friday, October 15th

C.E.#5 - Friday, November 5th * (Please note the date change)
