Course Syllabus:

 

Course Title:                 Machine Shop I / II

 

Course Description:     A classroom and lab for machine shop students.

                                      There will be basic machining operations on the

lathe, mill, band saw, horizontal saw, drill press, surface grinder, and different CNC machines. Students will understand measurements, machinist tools, inspection devices, speeds and feeds, HSS tooling, carbide tooling, G-coded programming, and different style coolants.  The students will become familiar with Auto CAD and MasterCAM (CAD/CAM).  N.I.M.S standard will be taught and certification will be offered in this class.  Hands on activities and classroom assessments will be used in this class.

 

Attendance Policy:       Saline High Schools attendance policy will be

                                      used. This policy will be enforced to the fullest.

Grading Scale:                 101         A+                79 – 76    C+

                                      100 – 96    A                   75 – 73    C

                                      95 – 90      A-                 72 – 70    C-

                                      89 – 87      B+                66 – 64    D+

                                      86 – 83      B                   65 – 63    D

                                      82 – 80      B-                 62 – 60    D-
